BitFenix Rolls Out Comrade Enclosure for First Time Builders on a Budget

A friendly case with a friendly name

BitFenix ComradeWe were all first-time builders at some point, and whether that describes you now or you're looking for a case that's supposed to be easy to work with and affordable, BitFenix believes its Comrade chassis fits the bill. According to BitFenix, Comrade sports premium features and functionality that are typically found on cases that cost twice as much, though there's one thing missing from the equation.
What's missing is the price. BitFenix's press release makes several mentions of the Comrade being an affordable and value-oriented chassis, but there's no MSRP listed. We've reached out to BitFenix to find out the Comrade's retail cost and will update this article when/if we hear back. (Update - BitFenix tells Maximum PC the Comrade will carry an MSRP of only $39 in the U.S.)
Pricing aside, the Comrade comes in Midnight Black or Arctic White, both sporting a front panel coated in a smooth micro-texture finish for a premium feel.
Inside the case you'll find enough elbow room to install a CPU cooler up to 6.29 inches (160mm) in height and a graphics card up to 11.81 inches (30cm) in length. There are three optical bays and three 3.5-inch drive bays to fill, along with a dedicated 2.5-inch disk rack for up to three SSDs. The PSU sits at the bottom of the case.

As far as the value-added features BitFenix is raging about, they include tool-free installation, drive locking, removable front and bottom dust filters, all-black cabling, rolled-edge cable pass-throughs, and an independent I/O shield with a USB 3.0 port.
The BitFenix Comrade will be available to purchase sometime this month.

Update

BitFenix wasn't kidding when it said the Comrade will be affordable. The company tells Maximum PC the Comrade will be going for an MSRP of just $39 in the U.S
