A friendly case with a friendly name
What's missing is the price. BitFenix's press release
makes several mentions of the Comrade being an affordable and
value-oriented chassis, but there's no MSRP listed. We've reached out to
BitFenix to find out the Comrade's retail cost and will update this
article when/if we hear back. (Update - BitFenix tells Maximum PC the Comrade will carry an MSRP of only $39 in the U.S.)
Pricing aside, the Comrade comes in Midnight Black or Arctic White,
both sporting a front panel coated in a smooth micro-texture finish for a
premium feel.
Inside the case you'll find enough elbow room to install a CPU cooler
up to 6.29 inches (160mm) in height and a graphics card up to 11.81
inches (30cm) in length. There are three optical bays and three 3.5-inch
drive bays to fill, along with a dedicated 2.5-inch disk rack for up to
three SSDs. The PSU sits at the bottom of the case.
As far as the value-added features BitFenix is raging about, they include tool-free installation, drive locking, removable front and bottom dust filters, all-black cabling, rolled-edge cable pass-throughs, and an independent I/O shield with a USB 3.0 port.
The BitFenix Comrade will be available to purchase sometime this month.
Update
BitFenix wasn't kidding when it said the Comrade will be affordable. The company tells Maximum PC the Comrade will be going for an MSRP of just $39 in the U.SSource
