Making lemonade as it were, Dutta kept at it with AllCast, and now the app is out of beta and freely available to anyone with a compatible device and access to the Google Play Store.
AllCast can stream photos and video to your TV using an Android 4.0 and later device. It supports Roku, Apple TV, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, Samsung and Panasonic Smart TVs, Google Tv products, DLNA renderers, and more. Music support is coming soon, and the app description enthusiastically notes that as soon as Google allows it, Chromecast will be supported, too.
The free version of the app has a 1-minute viewing limit--which should be enough to let you decide if the app is for you--and the premium version offers no time caps, no ads, and no splash screens for $4.99.
Gather ‘round the Festivus pole and have it, folks.
