HP Rolling Out ‘Elite’ Line Of Laptops And Desktops

HP Rolling Out ‘Elite’ Line Of Laptops And Desktops Like a lot of companies in the run-up to CES in January (brace yourselves for the onslaught in the next few weeks), HP is announcing a fleet of new computers. The new machines are in HP’s portfolio of “Elite”-branded products and include a pair of notebooks, a pair of desktops, a touchscreen monitor, and education and configuration/deployment services for businesses.

The HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 ($1,299) is a 14-inch (1080p HD) notebook that’s just 15.9mm thick, weighs 3.3 pounds, dual-core Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, and 4G LTE. The display offers optional touch capabilities, and there’s a handy Ultraslim Side Docking Station for easy peripherals connectivity.

The other notebook in the family is the HP Classmate Notebook PC, which comes loaded with HP Education Services. Based on an Intel reference design, the laptop features Intel Celeron N2000 series processors, integrated HD video conferencing, and Windows 8.1.

HP EliteDesk 800 G1

There are two business-oriented desktops, the HP EliteDesk 800 G1 ($669) and ProDesk 600 G1 ($489). Both are true desktops yet come in tiny form factors--”smaller than most office phones”, says HP--designed for use in virtually any space. The EliteDesk 800 G1 runs on Intel Core processors and has an integrated wireless antenna, VESA mounts, and six USB ports, including one with fast-charging capabilities. You can connect up to three additional displays with the VGA port and two DisplayPorts. The ProDesk 600 G1 includes many of the same features, including the VESA mounts and integrated wireless, and it also features SSD storage.

Finally, the Elite line includes the HP EliteDisplay S230tm ($359) touchscreen monitor, a 23-inch display with a 178-degree viewing angle and 70-degree tilt. The IPS display includes built-in speakers, a 720p webcam, and dual mics.

The EliteBook Folio is available now; the EliteDisplay will be out in January; and the EliteDesk and ProDesk will be available in April.
